Memphis, Tenn. — Fans and family gathered at Graceland on Sunday to honor and respect the life of Lisa Marie Presley.
According to multiple news sources, Elvis Presley’s only child has already been laid to rest at Graceland. service starts at 9am
Gates open two hours earlier at 7am. Service is free, but parking is $10.
Lisa Marie, also a singer-songwriter, was recently at Graceland for her father’s 88th birthday.
In front of Graceland, fans from around the world gather to leave notes and flowers at the stone wall as they prepare to bid farewell to Lisa Marie Presley.
“Even though she didn’t live here, she always bragged about her allegiance to Memphis and loved Memphis and was even referred to on the west coast as the Memphis Girl. Therefore, she was called a Memphian. Proud to have,” said Kevin Kane, President and CEO of Memphis Tourism.
Graceland says fans will have a chance to tour the gravesite after a public memorial service on Sunday.
The family of Lisa Marie is asking that in lieu of flowers, fans make contributions to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The organization supports a variety of causes in the Memphis and Whitehaven area, mostly focused on the arts, education, and children’s programs.
