Actor Suhas’ recent release family entertainer, authored by Padmabhushan, has had a solid opening weekend in the Telugu states and USA. Made on a low budget of Rs 4 crore, the film managed to garner unanimous blockbuster reports from all quarters upon its release, and is now proving to be a highly profitable project for its makers. Even the strategic and aggressive promotional campaign has helped the film’s box office prospects.
In its first weekend, Writer Padmabhushan collected over Rs 5 crore worldwide. In the US, the film has so far grossed a solid over $200K, and is expected to have a long run at the box office. On the other hand, the digital and satellite rights of the film were sold to Zee Network before the theatrical release at a handsome price which had already brought profits to the makers.
Writer Padma Bhushan Producers themselves released the film on commission basis in all the territories and are now making massive profits. Adding to this, the makers are also getting fancy offers from other language producers who are keen to acquire the remake rights of writer Padmabhushan.
Directed by debutant Shanmukha Prashanth, the film is jointly produced under the Chai Biscuit Films and Lahari Films banners.
