Interview : Avika Gor – Sai Ronak is one of the best co-stars I have worked with

Young actor Sai Raunak and talented actress Avika Gor will be seen together in the film Popcorn. Directed by Murali Naga Srinivasa Gandham, it is a rom-com entertainer. The film is produced by Madhupalli Bhogendra Gupta of Acharya Creations. The film is coming to the theaters tomorrow. Ahead of the release, we got in touch with Avik Gor, who is also the co-producer of the film. Here is the transcript.

How did popcorn get started?

Popcorn started when our director Murali narrated the script to me. It is a very different concept. 90% of the popcorn is inside the elevator. It is very challenging for an actor as we have to maintain the attention of our audience with two faces (Sai ​​Raunak and Avika Gor) for almost 2 hours 13 minutes. Content or mass masala movies are doing well these days. So we tried to balance the film with good content and performances.

Why did you produce the film?

Once I heard the script, I understood that it needed more attention and time from me. As actors, we go to the sets, come back and then promote the film. But as a producer, there is a need to think and incorporate different approaches. I wanted to experience it. I always wanted to be a maker and with Popcorn I fulfilled my wish.

How was the experience of working with Sai Raunak?

That’s amazing. Sai Raunak is one of the best co-stars I have worked with. He is extremely talented and humble. On the set, I wanted someone who is enthusiastic to work and is hardworking at the same time. So we chose Sai Raunak. I was the one who suggested to my director that he should be cast in the film.

Did you have any apprehensions about the film?

I was very scared. 90% of the film takes place with the two actors in one place. It can be boring for the audience. I love watching movies in theaters and it was hard for me to believe such a script. There are songs in the film as well. I slowly started believing in the script.

Can you talk about the shooting process? Did you shoot on set or in an actual lift?

We built a set with four walls that were moveable. So we could shift them according to the needs of the camera. It was very interesting, and I haven’t done this before. We fell in love with the process, and the same reflected in the performances.

Are you happy with your career?

I am very happy. Every script I’ve done, and every film I’ve worked on, I really believed in my roles. My character in Thank You has been beautifully designed by Vikram sir. All the characters played by me are close to my heart.

Can you tell us about your future projects?

I am working on some Telugu projects. I can’t leave Telugu industry because I am getting so much love here. Both those projects will be announced soon. I can make an announcement right now that I am launching in Hindi. Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt are launching me from the film 1920.
