(KTLA) – When Hollywood’s biggest names head to the Oscars on Sunday, they’ll be looking for something a little different. The usual red carpet has changed color and is now a champagne colour.
Crews debuted the new route on Wednesday, but it will still be called the Red Carpet.
Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel was on hand to assist with the rollout. He joked that the switch from red to champagne showed how confident producers are that no blood will be shed this year, a joke considering the slapstick involving Will Smith and Chris Rock at last year’s awards.
This year’s ceremony will mark the third time Kimmel has hosted.
A few days back he revealed he was “ready” if there was another slap but was choosy about when he would intervene.
“If someone comes on stage and slaps me? Well, I size them up, and, if I’m bigger than them, I beat the S out of them on television. And if it’s a rock, I run,” he said.
Nexstar’s KTLA team will begin reporting live from the Champagne Carpet at 1 p.m. Sunday on KTLA.com.
Ceremony begins at 5 p.m. at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles
