German authorities have launched an investigation after an 81-year-old man allegedly shot dead a 16-year-old boy following a noise complaint.
Reports said that an elderly Italian, Giuseppe Del B, shot Sinan F around 7:30 am on Wednesday in front of an apartment building they lived in. He then tried to shoot the boy’s mother and missed before turning the gun on himself. He has suffered serious injuries and his condition remains critical.
German outlet Bild identified the suspect and the victim, as well as the fact that Giuseppe shot Sinan three times, and T-Online reported that he struck Sinan in the head with one shot.
Alexander Rettemeyer, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office in Osnabrück, said the victim and the suspect “knew each other” and it was unclear whether Giuseppe had a license for the weapon, which he classified as a “small-caliber pistol”.
