In the Indian film industry, there have always been discussions about the remuneration disparities between male and female actors. Male actors generally get paid more than female actors, which has been the case for a long time. In the past some actresses had expressed their disappointment regarding the same.
Now global star Priyanka Chopra has raised her voice regarding the difference in remuneration. At a promotional event for her new web series Citadel, Priyanka said that this is the first time in her 22-year cine career that she is getting paid at par with her male co-star for Citadel.
Priyanka Chopra said it surprises her when she puts in so much hard work and time into her projects, but gets paid very little in the end. When Priyanka made this comment, she was referring to her previous films.
Priyanka wondered whether the pay check made any difference because of a woman leading Amazon Studios. Citadel premieres April 28 on Prime Video in multiple languages worldwide.
