A Spanish judge ordered a man to pay $215,000 to his ex-wife for 25 years of domestic work she “exclusively” handled as a couple.
According to a report in WSB, citing Spanish-language newspaper El Pais, Ivana Moral won the decision after arguing that the workload was too much for the couple during their 25 years of marriage.
The court ordered Morell’s ex-husband to make monthly payments of $528 to his ex-wife, an amount determined by calculating the minimum monthly professional wage for housekeepers during the period the couple were married.

Morel told the court that she was also responsible for raising the couple’s two daughters and looking after her husband during their marriage, yet she managed to clean a house which she described as “always impeccable”.
The ex-wife argued that “his particular dedication to home and family” left her unable to pursue career opportunities of her own, while her ex-husband was able to build a successful gym business and “accumulate and rapidly increased his wealth.”

Morel also argued that her 25-year marriage to her ex-husband left her feeling “financially threatened, worthless and dependent”.
