Baahubali 2 released in 2017 was a hit not only in Tollywood but also in the Indian industry. The Rajamouli directorial took the Bollywood box office by storm and became the first film to cross the 500 crore nett in the Hindi belt.
No Hindi film came close to the Hindi version collections of Baahubali 2, and the epic action drama film held the top spot for over 5 years. But Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathan has now overtaken Baahubali 2 to become the number one Hindi film in India. The special thing is that the film is still performing strong at the box office.
Currently, Pathan stands tall at ₹511.70 Crore nett. This is undoubtedly the best comeback ever for any actor in India. Other films to come may have the potential to break Pathan, but the achievement of this spy action thriller is exceptional as it is not a sequel and just a standalone film.
