The live performance of RRR’s global chartbuster ‘Naatu Naatu’ was one of the major highlights of the recently concluded 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Tollywood playback singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairav, who originally sang Naatu Naatu, performed the song live on the Oscars stage with a team of exotic dancers and received a standing ovation.
Till a day before the Oscars ceremony, it was believed that the protagonists of RRR, NTR and Ram Charan, would perform Natu Natu live at the Oscars. However, both Taarak and Charan clarified in a talk show before the Oscar night that they would not be a part of the live performance due to paucity of time.
Now Raj Kapoor, the show producer of the 95th Academy Awards, has said in an interview with the Academy that both Taarak and Charan had initially agreed to perform live. However, he later declined the offer as he was bogged down with other commitments (Oscar campaign) and was also not comfortable performing a live dance number on stage. Raj Kapoor revealed that the entire ‘Naatu Naatu’ live performance was rehearsed in just 18 hours and one 90-minute camera blocking.
