Little Rock, Ark. – St. Patrick’s Day is a big event day in many American cities, including Hot Springs, where the holiday is truncated and made a big deal.
Hot Springs takes advantage of its 98-foot-long Bridge Street to host weekend events centered on its annual World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Paradenow in its 20’sth year, and 2023 is no different.
Events start with a parade on March 17, the short-course event takes place in the city with lots of activities. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., but before that road measurements and Arkansas Blarney Stone Kiss happens.
The starting pistol firing actor to start the parade will be Christopher McDonaldBest known for his role as Shooter McGavin in the movie “Happy Gilmore” and currently starring in the HBO Max series “Hacks”.
McDonald’s isn’t the only celebrity at this year’s event. Arkansas music star Justin Moore will serve as grand marshal and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be among the parade entrants.
Speaking of music, Molly Ringwald’s will host a free concert after the parade ends. The Village People are doing a free show on March 18, the next day of the parade, at 8 pm.
march 18 is the day World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Zero-K There is a foot race along the parade route at 5 pm. The race schedule is plenty of time to run the parade route and be there for the concert.
